FAQ

Below is a list of the most frequently asked questions – FAQ – on dreadlocks, tattoos and piercings we receive:
Dreadlocks

Do I need to book in for a consultation for new dreadlocks/maintenance?

No, there is no need to book for a consultation – please pop in any day after 2pm at your convenience. We can then discuss your hair and what you’d like to achieve, method and pricing etc.

I live quite far away from the shop, can I email over some pictures of my hair instead of coming in for a consultation?

Yes, please do. We will need to see the length and thickness of your hair, so please send us a picture of the front, back and sides of your hair. It’s also useful for us to see the style you’re ultimately aiming to achieve – so have a Google and send that too!

How long does my hair need to be to start dreadlocks?

In order to start dreadlocks on European/Asian texture hair, it must be at least 4-5″ in length. Afro hair (depending on texture) can start the dreadlock process with a gel-twist method at a shorter length.

Are dreadlocks permanent?

Yes, dreadlocks are a permanent style.

We offer faux locks, which consist of extension hair braided into your own hair to add length and then wrapped around the top. Please note that faux locks are on a consultation basis only – this means we need to see your hair before booking you in.

How much are dreadlocks?

We can’t price dreadlocks without seeing your hair. Please either come in for a free consultation, or refer to FAQ: I live quite far away from the shop, can I email over some pictures of my hair instead of coming in for a consultation?.

Will I need an appointment, or can I just walk-in?

We require appointments to be made for all new dreadlock appointments, as well as a deposit (which will come out of your end bill). There are times where we can accomodate walk-in appointments, for example for maintenance work, but we would always recommend calling us on 02072844247 to book your guaranteed slot.

I only want a few dreadlocks, is this possible?

Of course, before taking the plunge of a whole head of dreads lots of clients prefer to start with one, two or a few dreadlocks. Prices per dreadlock start from £5 each, and we can usually fit you in as a walk in, or between other clients.

Tattoos

How old do I need to be to have a tattoo?

You must be over the age of 18 with photo ID proving this in order to be tattooed.

Is parental consent acceptable if I am under 18 years of age to have a tattoo?

We do not accept parental consent. You must be over the age of 18 with photo ID proving this.

How much is the minimum charge?

The minimum charge for a tattoo is £40.

Can I email over a design and get a price?

We always recommend coming in to see and speak to the artist you’ve chosen to do your tattoo. It is a permanent piece of artwork on your body, so it’s best to take the time to have the design drawn, placed and priced accordingly to you specifically.

Do I need to book an appointment?

An appointment is not always necessary for small tattoos, as the artists may be able complete your tattoo between other larger jobs. However, we would always recommend booking an appointment by calling 02072844247 to guarantee your appointment slot.

Piercing

How old do I need to be to have a piercing?

You must be over the age of 16 with photo ID proving this in order to be pierced.

Is parental consent acceptable if I am under 16 years of age to have a piercing?

We do not accept parental consent. You must be over the age of 16 with photo ID proving this.
